It all begins with light

Walking to work at sunrise changes my perspective. The darkest light slowly shifts and becomes tinged with gold and pink. Everything looks different. I want to capture those changes- the effects of light on how I perceive- and communicate the power visually. Struggling to figure this out, but I took a couple pics in this lovely lovely light this morning.

In the winter, the trees are skeletal. Ugliness abounds- the store fronts look more dim, the dirt and trash more clearly seen, and it takes extra effort to find the beauty in the shape of the trees, the structure of the building, and the depth of the sky at this particular moment. In spring, the leaves are the brightest green and nothing is untouched by color. Light reflects off the leaves, flowers- everything. The world is sparking and vibrating with life. Summer is lush with greens and bright floral colors. The light can be harsh, but humidity softens it. Makes it slightly more subdued and gentle.
